25th August 2017- 28th August 2017 (4 days 3 nights)
This is our second trip of the year to Siem Reap!
In the plane. It takes two hours to reach Siem Reap from KL. Anton was sleeping on my lap when I took this picture.
The airport in Siem Reap looks new and welcoming.
Tar paved road leading to the arrival hall. Quite a distance to walk from the plane to the arrival hall.
A statue decoration along the way.
Our free shuttle provided by Treasure Oasis Hotel.
Excellent service by the driver.
Group picture in the hotel's shuttlevan.
The scenery on the way to hotel. Quiet and dusty road.
Roadside stalls
Reached the hotel in less than 15 minutes. This is the hotel's lobby
Waiting at the lobby while the staff processed our documents for checking in.
Friendly manager explaining the facilities in the hotel. He told us that it's easy to get a tuk tuk in Siem Reap and a trip from the hotel to the city centre won't cost more than US$2 per tuk tuk.
The huge swimming pool looks inviting but the water was freaking cold.
When we first came in to our upgraded room, we saw our clean and huge washroom
Our upgraded room looks like this. Really worth the price
View from our room.
Our private van for 4 days
It is believe these two statues have magical powers and are guardians of the local people.
Wat Damnak Pagoda |
Wat Damnak is the biggest pagoda in Siem Reap. Wat Damnak means palace, which it also was during the reign of King Sisowath. Many Buddhist Monks live in this pagoda.
It is a well-known landmark on the eastern side of the Siem Reap River, close to the round about and behind the Siem Rerap Art Center Market.
My dad was posing at the Wat Damnak Pagoda entrance.
Walk in and look around, the grounds are beautiful.
Back to the hotel for a quick shower and asked our private driver to pick us up at 7pm.
On the way to the town.
Our driver dropped us in front of this restaurant in the city centre.
Looks fresh but we were all cheated by its appearance.
Ordered these food and regretted our decision to eat in this restaurant. Price was reasonable to us as tourists but I guess it's a bit rip-off for its taste.
We walked to the opposite road for window shopping at Angkor Night Market.
Saw huge durians at the night market. Guess the taste was just average from the tourists' expressions..
We walked until the end of the Angkor Night Market and discovered Phalla Angkor Night Market.
Enjoyed the evening with icy cold Anchor beer for USD50 cents only! Cheaper than a bottle of mineral water.
Anton wanted to have a sip too!
Took this picture of my dad, my sis and her bf in the tuk tuk.
