Singapore and Johor trip with family August 2012 - Part 1

Took KTM from Sentral KL at 11pm and reached Woodlands, Singapore the next morning. The experience staying overnight in a train is awesome!

The hostel that we stayed in "Footprints Hostel" is close to Little India station.
To get there by MRT: The journey is about 25-30 minutes. Then, walk about 8 minutes from the Little India station.

Our next hit: Pagoda Street, Smith Street and Chinatown

Interesting TinTin collections here

Tea time

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

Opposite the temple is Maxwell Food Centre

Tried the Lao Ban cold soya beancurd. I must say that this is the best one I've ever had. Must try for those who are going to Singapore

At the Chinatown Complex. Younger brother was not in this picture because he was the photographer. Hehe. My parents said that they came here almost 30 years ago. It was like revisiting memories for them. =)

Looking at the map.

Assorted drinks bought in 7 eleven

Our dinner; Burger Kings

Next morning, we had breakfast at the food centre nearby our hostel.

We took the North - East line MRT and alight at Harbour Front station

Took a leisure stroll from Vivo City shopping mall to Resort World Sentosa via the 700m long Sentosa Boardwalk

Upon entering RSW, we were crazy taking pictures everywhere

A family photo with the blue globe of Universal Studio

Oh no.. It was not opened yet but then people were seen queuing up for the admission..

With our friendly woodpecker

My second visit to Universal Studio but first ride with Transformer

The queue was extremely long! We waited more than one hour for our turn. But it was so good and got adrenalin rush. We went twice for it, the second with our parents! Woohoo!

In the 5D cinema

At The Shrek hut

The crazy penguins from Madagscar

Hip hop performance

Funny that this big guy asked my brother to move aside and asked him not to steal his limelight. Haha!

Kungfu panda! Don't ever mess with him!

Had fun in Universal Studio the whole day.

Night view along the Sentosa Boardwalk

Yong tau foo at a nearby food centre.

We didn't head back to hostel after that. Instead, we went to Clarke Quay to look at the nightlife in the city

The third and also last day in Singapore. Brother didn't come out with us. He spent the morning at hostel sleeping

The Merlion was under construction

Tourists were everywhere. Not easy to get a nice picture

Had lunch at a nearby food centre.

My dad wrote this before leaving Singapore.

Mum was busy with the bags

Mum decided to get something to eat on the way to Johor.

In the bus crossing the Singapore-Johor causeway

Reached our hotel in Johor and immediately took out the fried items we bought in Old Chang Kee Singapore. It was so good! especially the fried squid! OMG! We don't have fried squid in M'sia branch. Wondering what's the reason..
Then, we went to Danga Bay Marina Club

Colourful train at Danga Bay

The next day we went to Larkin bus terminal

Had breakfast at one of the two food courts in Larkin Sentral

Claypot yee mee

This was a good one. Toasted buns with thick butter and a spread of kaya paste

Then we took this damn bus Durian Burung back to KL

Why did I say the word "damn" earlier? This is the reason. The bus broke down somewehere near Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. The bus driver's fault. My dad noticed that there was fuel leakage when we made our first rest stop in the late afternoon and informed the driver about it. He ignored my dad and continued the journey. Please avoid taking this bus at all costs. We didn't book this bus at the first place. But due to some problem with the S&S International, we were asked to ride this bus. Damn..

We had to carry down all the luggages and wait for another bus to send us back. What an experience...
