We started the year of snake (2013) with a short trip to Malacca.

In one of the traditional houses |
Rattan rocking chair for the tired driver |
This is how the older generation cook |
I have seen this in my grandfather's house before |
A wooden cupboard to store food |
In the long house |
See how green it is! |
Wasn't too hot that day |
A Famosa Fort, the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Asia. The Porta de Santiago, a small gate house, is the only remaining part of the fortress still standing. |
Weird looking tree trunk |
Queued for an hour and at last we managed to get a seat for Satay Ccelup |
So delicious that we ended up eating more than 60 sticks! |
Night view in front of St Paul's Church |
Clock tower |
Buffet breakfast at Euro Rich Hotel |
Very nice interior design. Looks posh with the comfy sofa and unique lighting |
Princess Hang Li Poh's well at Bukit Cina. Located next to Sam Po Keng Temple. The well was built in 1459 by the princess's followers and surprisingly the well never dried up even during drought! |
At Sam Po Keng Temple. It was built in year 1795 by Kapitan Chua Su Cheong. At the back of the temple was a small graveyard where some of the early traders from China were buried there |
Inside the 218 years old temple |
Came to Nancy's Kitchen for some authentic Nyonya cuisine. Address: 7, Hang Lekir, Off Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock. |
Nyonya Ba Chang/Nyonya dumpling filled with pork meat, peanuts and mushroom. |
Popiah/ Egg wrap filled with assorted slices of vegetables dipped in sweet and spicy sauce |
A slice of popiah |
This one is delicious but can't remember what it's called. |
Cincaluk omelette |
Pork pongteh. Delicious but it was too oily.. |
After the heavy lunch, we drove back to Kl in the afternoon. It was a short but a memorable trip to kick-start the year =) |
